This special issue will explore the philosophical dimensions of AI’s impact on education and learning, broadly understood. We welcome inquiries into how AI alters traditional conceptions of epistemic agency, the conditions of knowledge, and the distribution of cognitive labor. We also invite reflection on the interplay between epistemology and cognition: how shifts in learning processes, reasoning strategies, and skill development in AI-mediated environments challenge or enrich our philosophical understandings of education. Through diverse theoretical approaches, we aim to illuminate both the risks and the transformative potentials AI brings to knowledge, teaching, and learning.
